Your Eye Test

Eye examinations are about more than glasses and should happen every 1 to 2 years depending on your age and symptoms.

We use state of the art equipment to assess your vision and ocular health during your comprehensive eye exam.

At times your eyes can indicate other health conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure. We monitor diabetic eye disease as well as detect and monitor cataracts, macular degeneration and glaucoma. Referrals to ophthalmologists are made directly by our optometrists for timely care.

If my vision is fine, do I still need an eye test?

What to look out for

  • If you experience headaches or notice more shoulder and neck pain while on your computer, it’s worthwhile having your eyes tested. These are common complaints of eye strain.

  • Children should be tested before they start school and/or if their co-ordination and academic progress are slow to develop. If they are squinting, you should seek us out.

  • Sometimes health conditions or medications can affect your eyes so it’s important to visit us if you notice any changes.

  • If a family member has an eye disease its worthwhile having your eyes checked as well. Some families have a predisposition to certain conditions.

During each eye examination, our optometrists monitor the progression of sun damage to your eyes. If eyes are not protected from UV rays you are at risk of developing ocular melanomas, basal cell carcinoma, cataracts and pterygiums.

Our retinal scans capture ultra wide internal images of the eye and highlight any areas of concern without any discomfort.
